Tess Guinery graduated from The Karl Von Busse Institute of Design, Australia, with an awakened passion to design and create. Very soon her creative eye and voice was echoed locally and beyond, inspiring others to find beauty in the routine of everyday—even in the mundane. Showcasing her individual and collaborative work through social media, Tess took the plunge and dived head-first into running her own business. After establishing herself as a sought-after creative, with exploding growth and design work bursting at the seams, Tess pressed pause and decided to take a sabbatical. This beautiful reprieve gifted free flowing-words—another expression for further exploration. Tenacious about creative growth, Tess continues to make bold, adventurous decisions all in the name of “choosing uncomfy”.
Her recent self published book—The Apricot Memoirs has traveled far and wide since its launch just under a year ago. It's a thoughtful fusion of musings, colour, and soul; birthed within a season of slow, surrender, overseas travels and rainbows— her double blessing. A book dedicated to the seekers of life.
Each page of the Memoirs has been printed thoughtfully on apricot coloured paper that was handcrafted in France partnered with rouge coloured typography and rhythms of art placed spontaneously throughout—sequenced in order of their writings and some tucked in spontaneously when the words arrived without warning at midnight. It's an imperfectly beautiful flow of tribe, food, joy, forgiveness, creativity, imagination, friendship, romance, vulnerability, adventure, creation, travel and LOVE!. Delve into their unexpected crescendos with moments to breathe and moments to move.
